Miki Overcast
Hi! I'm Miki Overcast and I hope you are enjoying my artwork. I've been painting professionally for over three decades. I moved to Roanoke after receiving my B.A. in Studio Art from Florida Southern College, Lakeland, FL in 1992.
Since then I've sold work internationally, participated in many art shows, shown my work in art galleries, coffee houses, restaurants, spas/salons, hotels, etc. — won a few awards.

As you can see, I like to "keep it light," expressing myself via paintbrush with movement & joy. My work has been described by critics as possessing "unique, whimsical, and childlike qualities."
I believe a strong piece of art SHOULD stir up FEELINGS — mine, mostly, brings happiness, with an occasional thought-provoking protest piece.
I am also a preschool teacher. My greatest joy is seeing the excitement in a child's eyes when THEY are expressing themselves artistically. My students also give me plenty of ideas for my children's book illustrations.
Much of my work can be found displayed at Left of Center Art Space, in historic downtown Roanoke, 24 Campbell Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24011, in the old Woolworth building. You MUST visit! — LOC Rocks!
I hope something I painted made YOU smile! Because that's what it's all about — to me.
