In a world filled with excess consumer products, Ingrid Chase creates pottery that can take hours to complete. Chase approaches each piece in an unplanned, intuitive manner. Rich textures and patterns are developed with her handmade pottery stamps and detailed glazing. While she has similar styles, the challenge of making something new with each object gives her work a refreshing freedom. She would prefer having one elaborate pot, to a cabinet full of the mass produced.
